Race (4/6)

I am not a runner. Never have been. Honestly I hate to run and I look weird. However I do like to walk and hike. I know several people that do like to run, and have completed many races. I am always amazed at their dedication to it. I’d be passed out after a quarter of a mile!

We are called to a race in the spiritual realm. It is the race of faith. Looking (learning) to Jesus. Zeroing our gaze on something with confidence. We need to look without distractions. We do not need the approval of man to be in this race. Just the love of our Fatherin Heaven.

Jesus ran for joy. The suffering that He endured, He knew it was coming. So what is your goal? It needs to be Jesus. He is our goal. Our finish line. Yearn to be with Him. Live in fellowship with Him forever.

Whatever you find yourself in as you are reading this, look at it like a race. Give it a goal or finish line, which is God. Then run with endurance. Run into His arms.

He has also called us to community runs. He wants us to have fellowships with others too. Most of the time He uses them to support you and share their testimony to encourage us.

Let’s give up anything that hinders us from God and run the race, with patience, and to struggle against sin. To live effectively we need to keep our focus on Jesus. Let’s run for Christ and not for ourselves. “…and let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us…” (Hebrews 12:1-2)
