James 1:1 James, a servant of God and Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in the dispersion: Greetings.
James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds. Trials: hardships, learning, perseverance, opportunity for joy.
James 1:3-4 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Testing: how we react under pressure. Steadfastness: perseverance. Perfect: God won’t leave you. In Philippians 3:12 Paul says “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” So much freedom in this statement! Complete: Gods plan.
Some more scriptures to confirm these verses are Romans 5:3-5, 1 Peter 1:6-9, 1 Peter 4:12-13. From them you will find that we are not to be surprised by the trials. You are to endure them. God will reward you for your perseverance. This gives you spiritual maturity.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him. We must not doubt, have full assurance God can give what you ask.
More scriptures on wisdom: Romans 11:33-36, Daniel 2:20-23, Job 12:13,16. Only God has all the knowledge, real wisdom. He has the true wisdom and power. We just need to ask Him.
James 1:6-8 but let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. The greek word for doubting in this verse is distazo which means waiver, hesitate. Double-minded man is never completely convinced God’s way is the best. Always trust in God. He loves us way too much. Take that in! I know it’s hard to fathom sometimes. Ask God during time of trouble. His answer will be solid and constant. Mans will waiver and lack wisdom.
Hebrews 11:1, 11:6, Matthew 7:7-11, Mark 11:22-24 you will find these verses compare to what James said. You can’t please God unless you have true faith. God is just like our earthly parent, or someone who you listen to. He’s our Father. He will give us what we ask for if we truly have faith. Be confident and assured when you ask.
Ok so I feel this was just words and not much personality..I will work on that haha. This is all so new to me but I’m following Gods commands for my life with where I’m at. I know He will continue to equip me and help make me feel more comfortable. Thank you for sticking it out as I grow 💜 Angie
