Acts Ch 4

In this chapter you will see uncomfortableness, boldness, courage, love, and how to live. Peter and John are arrested just because they healed a man in Jesus’ name. These men’s hearts sure were hardened.

Acts 4:13 The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men who had no special training. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

They were ordinary men… Why do we always think to tell our story or about Christ we have to be someone with all this knowledge and to be perfect?! I always say “I’m not good with my words I couldn’t do that”, but actually those are the ones God will use. He gives us boldness through our stories.

Do you ever get that moment where you are like something amazing happened, I need to tell everyone? That’s what happens when you live a life for God and He changes you. Your story is your testimony. It can be small or it can be big. You will be amazed when you start telling your story just how many will see more than somebody “not good with their words”.

Boldness and courage. That’s what God can give us. Others will see the change and want to know more. This is how we share the Good News. Peter and John are a great example of what we should do.

This chapter also shows us that we must not be afraid of rejection. Rejection is GOING to happen. We live in a fallen world with sin. There will be people who don’t see Christ. We have to be ok with this. Again it’s not our story, it’s God’s. We are told to share it and He will do the rest. We won’t be able to turn everyone to Him. But our job is to share the news and to pray for them.

Let’s be like Peter and John and live in boldness. Let’s not be afraid to tell our story. Let’s not be afraid to share the Good News. Let’s not be afraid to tell others just what God can do. And let’s live our lives differently from the worlds. Let’s be a church on fire for God!
