SPARKLE

Happy New Year!! Goodbye 2021. Hello 2022. I feel like the new year is kind of thrilling. It’s almost a clean slate. So many opportunities ahead. With the new year comes many traditions or goals. I have never been able to stick to them. Give me a month maybe. The only one that I have stuck with is the word/verse of the year. It has purpose and meaning.

I pray fervently for this word in December and watch how God confirms it. Scriptures, book I’m reading, podcast, Pinterest, signs. It shows up everywhere. Each year I do better at focusing in on it throughout the year. It’s never perfect but boy do I ever grow! It has brought me closer to Him. Last year was relationships, and I’m so thankful I did work on them. He brought couple new friends in and strengthened some old ones. I have never felt closer to God. Now they are not perfect but definitely stronger and deeper than they were.

This year He’s really pushing the word “sparkle”. And I love it! Jesus is the light, we are to be a reflection of Him, which means we sparkle from Jesus’ light. I’m so ready to see where He takes me with this. I will be stepping out of my comfort zone a lot I have a feeling. I just want everyone to know who Jesus is and what He has done for me. He is my light in this darkness and I will sparkle with His reflection. There are two verses that I found that fit what He wants from/for me.

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (ESV)

John 15:8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. (NIV)

I want people to look at me and see something different. I want to shine so bright for God, I want to sparkle for Him! It’s time to step into my purpose and to help others that are hurting or need encouraging. It’s going to take a lot of prayers and the Holy Spirit guiding and helping me but I know I can shine a little brighter for Him.

I encourage you to ask God for a word and/or verse that you too can focus on. Remember you are human. You may not always get there but make the effort. Any little and I believe you will see His hand working in your life. And like anything else the more you do it the more it becomes a habit. Let’s grow closer to Him! Let’s make this a better year yet!

Digging into the Bible (chronological). Being in the Bible daily helps us in so many ways. I know it can seem overwhelming. There are a lot of reading plans just at your fingertips that really do help. I thought maybe we could read it in chronological order this time, together. Again if you get behind don’t worry and just give up. Either catch up or just jump to where we are for that day. God can use even one scripture that you get read to do something huge. It doesn’t take long where it becomes a habit too and it’s very noticeable when you forget to read. I feel like my life falls apart when I don’t.

So for day 1 we are to read Genesis 1, 2, and 3.

Praying 2022 is the year we thrive! We can do this together 🧡
