Habits. They can be good and bad. Unfortunately it seems to be easier to create bad habits than good ones. So for this year, what God glorifying habit do you want to create?!
I have several that I hope become more of a habit but the biggest one is just anything I do giving Him the glory for it. Even my chores. The ones I hate like laundry and dishes. I need to look at that from a different view. I mean at least God gave me a life that I am able to do this.
Why is it so hard to give Him the glory sometimes?! The flesh in us. satan wants us to look at things in a negative way. His is not what God wants for us. We are to do everything for the glory of Him.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
God feels the glory when we are most satisfied in Him. Looking at it like that, it shouldn’t be as hard to do. He has done so much for us, there should be no question to how satisfied we are in Him.
Glorifying God habits also shape us to be more like Jesus. Exactly what we are to strive for so that just shows you the importance of them.
Along with bringing us closer to God, our habits also reflect onto others, bringing them closer to Him as well. The very purpose of our lives. So we need to take account of the habits we have right now. Are they for the most part glorifying God? If not, now would be a good time to work on that.
So let’s re-examine the habits that we have. Make sure there are many God-Glorifying ones. If you are just starting out, one for now is good. Don’t get too overwhelmed! And when that becomes a habit add another.
I pray that you are able to conquer this new habit this year. That it brings you closer to the One True God.
Reading the Bible together (chronological): today’s readings are a little longer; Genesis 4, 5, 6, and 7. just do your best! 🧡
