Don’t Hide Your Light

This weeks reading we will be finishing up the first book, Genesis: Monday: Genesis 32-34. Tuesday: Genesis 35-37. Wednesday: Genesis 38-40. Thursday: Genesis 41-42. Friday: Genesis 43-45. Saturday: Genesis 46-47. Sunday: Genesis 48-50.

A verse was speaking to me today. Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world -like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. We a lot of times talk about being the light but have you thought about how you are not being a light?

If we all live for Christ we have it in us to glow like lights. We sometimes hide it though. Have you ever been in a situation where you should have spoke up but instead chose to be quiet? I’m sure afterwards it got to you that you didn’t say something. There was a conviction.

How about going along with the crowd? If you are the same as everyone else how can you show Christ? For we are not to be of this world. We are to be different.

We also hide it by denying we believe, letting sin in, not telling others about our light, and ignoring the needs of others. Some of these I will honestly say I struggle with. Especially speaking up when I decided to stay quiet. I don’t feel intelligent and honestly a little hypocritical.

But these are things that could be holding us back from being who God created us to be. I don’t know about you but I want to be who He planned me to be. Definitely a heart check!

So this week let’s not hide our light! Let others see it from miles away like a house lit up on a mountain in the distance. 🧡
